The Story

I came to faith not through certainty, but through crisis. It was in the wreckage of what I thought I believed that I first encountered something real — a presence that did not explain itself, but refused to leave.

For twenty years I have been a student of the prophetic tradition — not the sensational kind that fills arenas, but the ancient, costly kind that speaks truth to power and calls communities back to their deepest selves. I have sat with the desert fathers and mothers, wrestled with the Psalms, and learned from teachers who paid dearly for what they knew.

The Spirit Sings began as a journal — a place to think out loud about faith, doubt, justice, and the strange beauty of a life lived in pursuit of the sacred. It has grown into something I could not have planned: a community of searchers who refuse to settle for easy answers.

I write because the truth demands to be spoken. Not because I have arrived, but because the journey itself is the point — and none of us should have to walk it alone.
